Well, I'll put it in the following way. In 1969 my time in the first grade in my home in rural Alabama, during the winter, it was in the mid-30s outside. And I had to attend school in barefoot. My brother would yell to me. After that, I'd run out the door barefoot. At the point that my brother got to my sister's house I'd be able to catch him by the time he reached me. By the time we got on the road, I was 15 to 20 yards from my sister and brother. From going to school barefoot in the winter of 1969 to growing up and having a sneaker inspired by me ... I felt fortunate.
